Rumors have been spreading that Rachel Weisz, of The Mummy Movies fame, may be slated to play Catwoman. Other rumors are purporting that Chris Nolan has changed his mind and will do a third Batman movie to complete his own personal trilogy.

Nothing substantial can be confirmed, however, but that won’t stop Popped Culture News from speculating.

Imagine Rachel Weisz in a skin-tight black outfit snapping a whip and meowing. I’m purring just thinking about it and I didn’t know I had the ability.

Halle Berry was definitely a sexy Catwoman but quite frankly her outfit didn’t work well with moviegoers. It wasn’t that male audience viewers minded seeing Halle prowl around showing plenty of skin but her costume didn’t have that blend of realism and fantasy. Or rather we had a hard time believing any super-heroine or super-villainess would design that outfit for lurking around in the cold of night.

A hero costume should have defenses in mind, protection from all the baddies and mutants that could pop up at a moment’s notice. Even the illusion of protection is acceptable, therefore baring too much skin makes a superhero look vunerable and often ridiculous. At least when being depicted in the movies. In comic-books almost anything can be drawn to look natural to the character.

The real question in the minds of moviegoers will be which villains will make an appearance in a third Batman film. Or will they try to show too many characters which created problems for Spiderman 3.

My vote would be for Penguin. He’s creepy, he’s diabolical and he would be a challenge to play for an A-list actor. Throw in Catwoman and you have the second Burton film all over again but with Director Nolan the story and feel would be entirely different.

To be honest though we have yet to see The Riddler properly portrayed due the botch job of director Joel Schumacher on part 3 when he was inspired by the Batman TV Series more than the source material. A Riddler uniting with Penguin might be a good match for the new Batman.
