This lucky bastard got to see the New Friday 13th Film already and he doesn’t really say if it is good or bad, he only tallies and compares drugs, sex and violence to the past films.

According to his article (also available on video) this is the new Friday The 13th tally:

Kills - 12 people. Doesn’t sound like a lot but remember it’s not about quantity, it’s about quality. We want to see some original bloodletting. Apparently the machete is heavily used, it is after all Jason’s signature weapon.

Drugs - 4 scenes. Does marijuana really count as a drug anymore. It’s kind of a joke that it’s illegal. I never really cared for drug scenes because it reminds me of all the annoying housemates I had in student housing. Jason can be the government’s drug enforcer for all I care.

Nudity and Sex - 5 scenes, that sounds promising. There’s nothing more disappointing than a Jason film with no nudity. Young and perky we hope.

The author also makes mention of false scares involving cats if you read all the way to the end of the article. Parts 2 and 5 had cats jumping out to frighten us for no reason. He says it’s lazy directing, I almost wonder if the jumping cat is so cliche that some horror directors insert it in as a tribute to the gimmick. Or just to see if they can get away with it.

Regardless, sounds promising so far…
